I have this young hen 6 mos. that I got from Bobbi and want to take my splash rooster out and put in a black rooster split Lav. I still like the splash and don't want to have a lot of blues and blacks. I want a lot of splash. Will a black rooster split or not still give me a lot of splash? I wish splash would breed true.

It is my understanding Splash should breed true for a generation or two. It will become diluted with further breeding. I think you'd come nearer getting Splash using the Splash roo. However, your pullet is already fairly diluted. Someone will correct this if I'm wrong.

No but I wrote it down from a chart that was posted on here so if this isn't right I would love to no.
What about a blue roo with her? That gives 50% spash yes???

yes splash to black is blue but she is crossing a black split so

I think you need to cross with blue for more splash color
or blue to blue

You would want to breed the Splash Hen to a Blue Rooster and that should darken up your splash. If you want even darker Splash, then you breed Blue to Blue.

Splash x Splash is 100% Splash, but the color will start to dilute and she is already quite diluted.

Black to Splash is 100% Blue.

OK Thank you, when she starts to lay I hope to have a blue rooster ready. I just don't think my pocket is deep enough for the Lavender. I had to save to get the ones I got from Bobbi.
