Self Blue (Lavender) Silkie Thread

[Dylan's Silkies]

Hi Brenda,

I bought them from Deb (Fawkes Feathers) and they are a pair. The boy is now getting to be about the right age....but the pullet is still too young. I think Deb said she was born in Jan while the boy was born in early Dec. I'm hoping to get some nice babies from them later in the summer.

Anh (Dylan is my red siberian husky who past away a year ago so I named my silkie flock after him)

That is only a SMALL part of the critters here! The birds are well over 200+ total, plus Goats, Sheep,Dogs,Rabbits, GPigs, & Ponies! Who nneds to commute when your 7 to 10 job is in the backyard!

Anh,

I read further and saw that they came from Deb. How many varieties are you up to now?

How did your hatch go? Mine didn't. We were away for awhile during lockdown. In that time the power went out for 7 hours. We were not home to start the generator and lost them all. Very upsetting. My black pullet is now laying and ready for a visitor. Just email or pm me.

Very nice!! You will have to tell us your name since it isn't Dylan.
So on the lavender color I have a question... I see them in several different shades and was wondering is there a certain shade of lavender that is bettter or what should we be tyring for. Did that question make sence??? Lol!​

Hi, it's Anh.

I'm not sure what the preferred shade would be but I would imagine just even coloring all over the bird would be the most important trait.

Lavender experts out there, what do you think?

Not a Lav expert, but your birds are beautiful! Love your doggy pictures too. What beautiful animals!

 

[Elite Silkies]

Lavenders should be a nice even clear color. The roo's usually are a little darker than the hens.

I think I just hatched my FIRST LAVENDER baby!!!!!
