I got this new pullet that I absolutely LOVE! I think she is a dark lavender, what do you think?

My Blues are much darker than this....that's why I thought she was lavender. Any other opinions?

Also, If I am trying to get lavender babies from a lavender and a black/split to lavender. Which one would be better as the roo? Does it matter? Same question when I breed lavender to buff/split to lavender? Which color would be better as the roo?

I got 2 Lavs recently and one looks VERY similiar to yours. I was told by several people on and off of BYC that shes Lavender but mixed with Blue. I have pics posted here if you wanna look

Sure! I actually bought her at the Kentuckiana Poultry Show some months back. I saw a bunch of your birds there Donna, I remember your logo on the cards. They were beautiful! Apparently a woman had bought about an entire flock from you and was just picking them up there. I kept running up to each cage going AW DANG ITS SOLD!

She is a pretty bird, but she has a lot of gold/red bleed through. Her features are nice, so I bought her. I had read somewhere that Lavender can help to cross out gold/red tones. Seems to have worked

Featherbaby,

Have you checked her wings?
Lavs should have white rachis (or shaft) on top of their feathers.

And black rachis on bottom of their feathers.

These pics were taken from the same bird
