Self Blue (Lavender) Silkie Thread

Here's my blue and lavender pullet. Her color is odd looking as well. She's not a blue and she's not a lavender.... (sorry for the blurry photo)

Is this the bird you had at the Maryland show that I was looking at regarding color?​

Tammy - yes, she's the one we were trying to figure out her color. I've had some many breeders look at her and some say blue split, some say dark lavender.

I hatched her from eggs sold to me as lavender but she sure doesn't look like the other lavenders I have. Oh well. She's a pretty girl anyways. I have her with a nice blue roo at the moment so I can get some pretty babies from them.

Hey all
Alittle update as some may remember I bought some "lavender" silkies that turned out not to be. They just looked like washed out splash and blue. So after thinking long and hard I decided to breed them and see what I got figured it was worth a shot as they could have been split.. Well I hatched my first set this past weekend. These are from 1 roo and two hens. I got a rainbow of colors. I know there are 2 blue and 1 splash but they rest is anyones guess. But they sure are cute!!!

That little partridge baby looks exactly like the supposed "Lav" or "split" that I hatched from eggs I bought. I haven't a clue on the other ones though? One might look a little like a Splash? They are cute though....all Silkies are cute
