Self Blue (Lavender) Silkie Thread

Satin silkies is listed on feathersite, link goes to angelfire with a splash pic, then another link to a free server that comes up dead. Hard to say if they are still breeding, but it would probably be better to pick something that hasn't been used.

Yes, Judy Reed's flock was called Satin Silkies. She is not currently breeding but is looking forward to the day when she is once again.

You could do Satin Smooth Silkies...but they really aren't smooth...hummmm.

If it is the SSSS then what about Sassy Silkies? that seems to fit them even better.

I've already looked, at length, for some nice 'S' adjectives to put before Silkes. Needless to say, all the good ones have been taken.

So I put naming on the bottom of my list for now.

Yeah I know....it don't necessarily have to start with an "S" though. She just liked "Satin". I've gotten some other suggestions on the link I provided earlier so she'll have some names to take into consideration. I want this to be fun for her

That was a problem I had ran into also. We considered using other things besides an S word at the beginning. But Barefoot Bantams came up and luckily there was nothing on google & DH liked it better than anything else we had come up with ..... took several months too!

I have lurked on BYC for couple of years and had actually joined BYC before settling on a name... so I just added it as a title

Thats been the ONLY easy part about raising my Silkies~~the name. I don't think there's another city in the USA called Bat Cave...lol so of course "Bat Cave Silkies" made sense to me
