Self Blue (Lavender) Silkie Thread

I posted this a while back but here is a photo of the two different colors that we get here in the lavenders. Sorry it's not the best picture... need to do a new one.

And a closer up of the streaking... is this close to what you are talking about? Here you can see a bit of the barring.

Hello Happy Hens~

We will have some pairs and trios for sale next week. If you click in the links in our signature line you can see more details.

We might have some chicks for sale later in the fall depending on how hatching goes...

To me it looks like there is one lav in the first pic (the chick furthest to the left), one in the second (the top chick), then both in the last picture.

Hi rilly, Once again, you are correct, I didn't know someone is posting my pictures and asking questions. Top(1st) photo have one lav with three porcelain, the last photo is all lav. Thanks for answer them for me.

Thank you so much Darling Farms!!!!
I have your 3 chick down photos on page 261 inbedded in my head, and these have been a terrific help to me.
My first two lav chicks were the yellow with the smudges of pale blue and then I have had one like photo 1 with the dark tips.
The first one gets the dark whispy bits and has NO foot father at all. The second one has turned a pale lemon so I think
he is from the buff cross to lav F1.My roo was from two white parents so is now crossing to the black daughter and
has only had 4 offspring so far - the black girl is only 8 months old. I think I have a few porcelains but they are only 6 weeks old
so have to wait a bit longer.
This site is like my bible. We only have one lav expert over here named "Ruff" and she is inundated with questions because
she is pretty expert on everything. We don't have a specialised Silkie expert like your Sonoran, so I have to borow her from here.
I will keep you updated and once again a massive "Thank You". You have no idea how appreciative I am.
PS I love your birds

Here are a few pictures of my first lavender split silkie. The Daddy is pure lavender and the mother is either one of my two black silkies or a buff hen. Nice foot feather and good seperation on 5th toes. No vaulted skull. Keeping my fingers crossed it is a pullet !!!

probly out ur buff

That's what I was thinking. I had two others about a month ago that were dark gray/black chicks but were killed by the parents I think. This little one is in with it's three moms and daddy and all is well. Don't have the heart to take it out, no companions for it. Hoping more hatch but ???
