Any ideas about this chick? Looks to be to be lavender, but my eye isn't the best sometimes. Could just be a very very light shade of blue, and not genetically lavender.

No flash and next to an obviously blue chick

I think she's self blue, because it's so uniform throughout, no lacing like you'll sometimes see. Super pretty girl. :]

Lavender is a color, not a breed. They are purebred Araucanas, but I already knew that. I just figured this would be the best subforum for the query.

I don't think anyone said anything otherwise..?

Oh you misunderstood what I put. I am just not familiar with classification of colors on this breed.

Gotcha.

The only colors accepted by the APA for Araucana are black, white, black breasted red, gold duckwing, and silver duckwing. So I already know that the blues I so love are a non standard color.

Turns out there is a possibility the chick is lavender and not just light blue, as the parents are apparently split to lavender. I didn't know this until I asked the breeder.
