Update:

I remembered I had a receipt, since I also mailed something. On the receipt is a "clerk number". So, I called with the time that I was there and the clerk number. I had three main complaints: 1) None of her business what I am receiving in the mail, 2) It's unprofessional to give me her unsolicited opinion, and 3) Lumping me in with something "inhumane" in front of my child.

We'll see if anything comes of it.

Unprofessional and rude. Regardless of anyone's feelngs about the issue - she has to voice her opinion outside of the workplace....I would contact the postmaster and let them know even if you do not have a name. Stay calm and respectful but bring your concern to the appropriate party

They follow thru quite quickly and swiftly in dealing with complaints about clerks - I have seen it happen - they get written up and a note put in their personnel file with the Union

Wow- that was totally innapropriate. I think it lacks compassion to push your belief systems on other people. It implies that her way of life is superior to yours. Which obviously isn't the thruth. We all live in ways that feel right for us and work best for us. Her dogmatic behavior won't serve her or anyone for that matter.

I would forget about the incident and move on. Reporting her will only contribute to the negative energy she expended in lecturing you. Put your energy into making your new baby chicks a happy and healthy home.

What you get in the mail is YOUR business not hers; plus the idiot should know that any mail she handles is job security. Let someone who really needs/wants a job take her place.
