Sell Me On A Duck Breed

Pics
So here I am, excitedly trekking toward getting my first ducks and BLAM, I hit a wall head on.

Since April 2016 I have brooded four sets of chicks in my house and all went swimmingly well.

Last week I finally was able to replace my old oven with a new state-of-the-art convection oven. I have wanted one for years and have patiently waited.

And now, today, I read the users manual. Does anyone know where I’m going with this yet?

I happened up on this small, but very important piece of information...

I’m ticked, but thankful at the same time.

Now I’m thinking, what the hell am I supposed to do? Where am I going to put my duckie brooder? How far away is sufficient? In any room as long as there is a closed door between them and the kitchen? Just not use the oven for 2-3 weeks?

A while back I read about chicks dying from brooding under Teflon coated heat lamps. Would that be similar to whatever the fumes are that my oven would emit?

This is terribly aggravating! Good gawd! :barnie

Has anyone else run into this problem before?

First, I will not go so far as to claim Dux are birds...

but we have a convection oven in our gas stove which we use a lot. I have raised many real birds, turkeys, chicks and guinea Keets with no ill affects to them..

If this helps any,,, ad you reconsider raising devils spawn..
