Sell or Give Away Chicks?

I got my girls at the feed store for $2.19 - $2.59 for pullets, depending on breed. The SR chicks were $1.59 - $1.89. That was back in March, then we were there a couple months later and they had them on sale for 1/2 off. Boy it was hard for my DH to drag me out of there without getting a few more.

Buying wholesale they get a better price than what you can buy for. The feed store I bought them sold them cheaper than the hatchery does online. The other feed store sold straight run mix for .69 cents a piece. I ended up with Black Austrlorp, BUff Orpignton, New Hampshire Red(4), White Rock, Barred rock(3). Those were from cackle....

Of course if you add the theory of selling feed to me all year, I guess they do not need to make money....

I buy mine from people not feed stores .the feed stores here are getting 2.50 to 4.00 for 2 day old chicks. and I lost several of them.Lisa
