Selling Bantam eggs for consumption...

I have a mixed flock, so my customers get all sorts of eggs. I always give them 2 banty eggs for 1 big egg. Or I will sell 18 banty eggs for $1 less than my normal price.

Usually I KEEP the banty eggs, boil them, and give them to the human kids as a snack. They like the kid-sized eggs. (we had hard-boiled quail eggs yesterday, extra special treat)

ETA: SInce I have to watch my calorie intake, I also use the boiled banty eggs as my breakfast at work. Some of my cubie neighbors buy the banty eggs just for this reason.

I recently had two dozen eggs given to me by a neighbor whose chickens were outproducing themselves, and a few of them were bantam sized eggs. The kids thought they were great, little hard boiled eggs! I'd try marketing them as kid-sized eggs, you might be surprised at the response.

On the other hand, my five year old can eat three extra large hard boiled eggs before you can say cholesterol overload when he's in the mood. And he's a skinny string bean, too!

I honestly slip one into my dozens or 18 pks. of the standard sized eggs. I have so many HUGE monster goose like eggs that I feel it balances out? No one has ever said anything and they always come back, so I felt it was okay. In fact a couple people think they are super cute and gush all over them.
