What are the legal laws if I were to sell eggs online for consumption not hatching purposes???

Also about how much in shipping would I have to pay to ship say 1 dozen eggs? would I have to ship with an ice pack???

Just an idea popped into my head and looking at different angles

To me shipping eggs for consumption isn't worth it. You'd have to box eggs really well and that can get pricey. I know some prices for shipping hatching eggs have been between $12-20 and that's with a small box. I don't think there'd be much profit, if any at all. Sorry.

I agree. To securely package and ship the eggs would cost so much that there would not be room for profit. You typically only see hatching eggs sent via mail and even then it's for the more rare breeds of chickens whose pedigree can be documented back several generations to establish value for those that successfully hatch.

You would not need an ice pack if you ship the eggs without washing them. Eggs only need to be refrigerated after they've been washed because the bloom gets washed off and they are more susceptible to bacteria penetrating the pours of the shell. I have one customer who buys 2 dozen of my eggs every other week and wants them unwashed and non-refrigerated. They keep for a long time at room temperature. It's commonly accepted that eggs "must" be refrigerated and sometimes it can be hard to educate people otherwise. They seem to forget that people have been raising chickens and storing eggs long before refrigerators where invented.
