In the Brooder
My daughter has someone interested in buying some of the eggs her chickens have started laying. I'm wondering what a fair price would be? I would say the eggs are medium in size. Any thoughts?

I'm selling mine for $3 a dozen and I guarantee them to be fresh. My hens are not new layers though and their eggs are jumbo. I mark every carton with the 'layed on' date. Depending on your location, eggs sell as high as $7 a dozen in metro farmers markets. Some folks will pay whatever the cost to eat organic and free range. I couldn't sleep at night though if I were selling mine that high. Best of luck to your daughter. My daughter has someone interested in buying some of the eggs her chickens have started laying. I have found that there is a huge price difference depending on where you are. More than likely your going to be somewhere between $3 - $5 a dozen. You should be able to sell at a higher price than the grocery store. One thing you might do is look on craigslist to see what others are selling for in your area that could help you get a baseline. My daughter has someone interested in buying some of the eggs her chickens have started laying.
