Selling Eggs

Yes, it depends by State (as far as I know). Usually, you can sell from your own property without any inspections or licenses. If you start transporting to a store, or a farmer's market, then you might start getting into the might-need-a-license area.

Thank you for the info! That makes sense. I noticed a lot of people in my area seem to be trading eggs for other things and I figured it wasn't allowed here. I'll check into it. BTW - any ideas on where the egg selling info might be found for my area?

Thanks again!

I wish someone would offer to buy my eggs. The chicken eggs, not MY eggs per se. LOL.

My local supermarket is selling just cage-free eggs for 4 dollars a dozen. It seems appropriate to sell free-range organic eggs for at least the same. Plus the added benefit of supporting your local farmer.

I live in So. Ca. and just started selling my extra eggs for $4.00 a dozen. I actually sell them at a friends hair salon. All the girls that work there love the eggs and look forward to me bringing a delivery. I actually have given a few of the girls my cell so they can call an place orders. At times actual customers wil by some too...My friend owns the salon and she actually gave me the idea. I did purchase my own egg cartons online. It was like $20.00 for 25 cartons (thats with the shipping). Enjoy the extra money...why not in an economy such as this!

Well I can tell ya that there is no way I am investing anymore money into the chickies this year. If I start selling them (the eggs) to the feed store, they will get them in an ice cream pail.
