Selling hatchlings...is this unreasonable?

I hate holding birds for people, one week turns into two weeks. Ayeyiyi!! From now on I am going the "first one with the money at the door gets the bird". It will not be "Buy them at your time and convenience and to hell with my time and convenience". Can you tell I have been through this more than once? It can make you bitter if you let it.

Not unreasonable at all. After all you have to feed them and care for them all that extra time. I would.

I'd like to point out that this isn't a parent buying ducks for their child. This is an Uncle buying live animals that aren't going to live in his own house. You don't know if the kids want ducks, or if the mother wants ducks. You only know that the uncle thinks it is cute to give animals as gifts.

Gift animals are very often not wanted. If the mother wanted ducks to give to her kids, why is the mother not buying ducks?

I have held chicks for people. If I have to hold them for more than a couple of days I ask the buyer to buy me a bag of feed.
