I've been having a hard time selling lavender split chicks.. they are solid black and I've noticed they move slow. Anyone else run into this? I'm thinking I might move away from breeding lavenders..

Lavender split means they have the lavender gene but it's not expressed because the black gene is dominant. They can throw lavenders if bred to a lavender or another lavender split.Ignorant here. What does lavender split mean? Will they throw lavenders at all?
Lavender is recessive so it takes two copies to show.Ignorant here. What does lavender split mean? Will they throw lavenders at all?
Yes I sell them all for $4 a piece. They are amerucanas and I figured that was a good price. Everyone doesn't seem to want straight run. That is my other problem I suppose.. straight run black chicks. I prefer black chickens. But my light brahmas and my Easter eggers go so much faster. So you sell lavenders for the same price as splits?
If so thats the problem. Splits usually sell for 1/2 of what the lavenders go for.
Where are you located?
Its nice that u prefer Black. But that is quite uncommon. Most people, unless they are breeding or showing, prefer color of some sort. Many are just for egg laying pets/ hobby.Yes I sell them all for $4 a piece. They are amerucanas and I figured that was a good price. Everyone doesn't seem to want straight run.
