selling price for eggs?

As someone else wrote - it's location, location, location. Check your local farmers' market to see what eggs are selling for there. Then check supermarket prices. I sell mine easily for $4.00 a dozen, $2.50 a half-dozen. Since I use clear plastic cartons that can be sanitized and re-used, I give a $0.25 credit for returned cartons.

I'm getting $3.00 a dozen, straight run. If someone ask for all blue Ameracana:Db or all Welsummer eggs I charge $4.50 a dozen. Thay are both extra-large eggs. For Easter had some special orders I filled. Had some blue, green , olive, pink and Terra Cotta the Wellies. Those I got $6.00 a dozen. Some of the people I work with got into a bidding contest. Then came to me and told me what they would pay, so I just kept my mouth shut and took the money.

Well, I checked my local farmers market and the price went up. They want $3.50 a dozen. That's a little high for eggs in my mind.

Luckily, one of my neighbors saw Xander and I building our new duck pen the other day and asked about the chicken eggs. She wants 2 dozen every 2 weeks so I went ahead and offered them to her for $2 a dozen.

I'm thinking about selling duck eggs, but I'm not sure what sort of price to give. No one in my area sells duck eggs.
