I picked up 4 1-2week old LF chicks and one brand new tiny silkie two days ago. Silkie was of course sleeping more but otherwise holding her own till last night when I noticed her hilarious off center run/jump/balance way of skittering around. Today she won't put any weight on her right leg.

I've just given her a place to hide in the brooder. Should I just put her in a separate box? She liked to push herself under the older ones - for comfort? But they are just so rambunctious. Can't feel any breaks in her leg/hip. But honestly, how would I know what a normal 3 day old hip felt like?

She was dropped about 8 inches yesterday morning. Hopped right back up.

The other chicks are cute, but nothing like this tiny little ball of fluff.

She will be very unhappy if separated; I would not unless they start pecking her to the point of drawing blood.
