Separating my baby chicks

Hello Everyone

I have my first batch of baby chickens and they are adorable, I have 8 Rhode island reds, I have them inside my house as they are only 3 weeks old. Today I got a second brooder and I put 1/2 of the chicks in that one, to I wanted to ensure that they had enough room, I put the 2 brooders side by side... But the chickens stood up against the side and chirped so loud... That I decided to put them all back in the same box...that calmed them down, have anyone else experienced this?

Let me know your thoughts please...

Cut an opening(s) between the two brooders so they can use the entire space.
