Getting in 50 chicks from MM this weekend.

25 Cornish X and 25 assorted chickens.

My question is should I set up two brooders since the Cornish X will grow so much quicker or should I keep them all together?

Thanks,

You can keep them together for the first week or so, but will have to seperate them after about a week. The cornishx will grow so fast and will stomp over the others. Besides...the cornishx will need different feed.

With that many I say you should set up two brooders. The cornish will need a lot of cleaning and get huge fast. When I raise small numbers (4 or so) I just keep them together. Seperate brooders will allow you to restrict feed on the big guys and have them last longer so they can all make it to butcher.
