Hello, I'm getting ready to start my first hatch of eggs with my one and only broody hen..... I'm using a brooder box to let mama hen brood in peace in my outdoor building, then when ready I want to move them into a chicken tractor until the chicks are pullets and ready to join the rest of the flock. My questions are these:

How long after hatch until mama and peeps are ready to move from the brooder box to the chicken tractor?

How long do you keep mama with her peeps in the chicken tractor or do you seperate at all?

When would be a good age to move the pullets back into the flock with the other hens and one roo?

I keep mine in the same coop and or run just pened where know one can get to them. Like a dog kennel then the kennel in the run so the chicks can get in and out but the other chickens can not. Does that help?

I kept mine in a pen next to the others so they could see each other, when about 2 wks old, I opened the dividing door and let them join the rest of the girls. Momma took care of them and didn't let anyone too close.
