I got a showgirl on my last silkie hatch and I wasn't expecting it. It popped out and I thought there was something wrong with it!!

Then I realized.. oh! It's a showgirl!!

My daughter and I decided to name our showgirls after DR Suess characters lol

Oh those showgirls are so ugly they are cute-oh they do look right out of Dr Suess that is so funny

Day 14 (or so) of the guinea egg hatch. I got the humidity down to 60%. I am not too concerned it is that high since they recommend at least 55% and that is a stones throw off of it. I am thinking of getting my new brinsea going with some more eggs. I promised my husband I would not hatch anything else, but I have to make sure my Christmas present works

I am thinking of getting more bbs orpingtons. They seem to be a little more high strung than the gold ones I have, but I love orpingtons in general. I might have to wait until the other hatch is done, it is day 14 for me to have the eggs but they were being sat on my a hen for at least a week, they may be ready next week. It is so hard to say. They fill up 2/3 of the egg. All but 2 look great, the other two look like they are either quitters or slightly behind the other eggs as far as development. This is my first time hatching keets, it is so new and exciting. On a side note, I found someone to take 5 roos from me tomorrow. Then I will be down to only 2 roos. WOO HOO! 1 buff orpington 7 wk old roo, and one white leghorn that we call "scooby roo", he is afraid of his shadow and sleeps on our porch every night. I am tired of getting spurred by evil roos.

Thanks ! ANd ahhh waiting is the worst ! it'll be here before you know it!

The only difference i know between the showgirl silkie and a reg silkie is
the show girl does not have any feathers on its neck (naked neck) and your reg silkie is completely covered in silkie!
Does anyone have anything else to add?
