September Hatch-A-Long!

So, I read the directions for my incubator when I got it about candling. All I thought I was supposed to look for is an area where light doesn't go through all the way, like a dark area, which is what I found. But I keep reading where people say they see movement or eyes!! What???? Maybe I didn't do something right!!!

HI
I never see mine move...............once I saw a couple swimming early on, a long time ago.......
but I read that folks are watching for movement late in the incubation stage..and I just want to yell.
Don't throw that egg out...............So don't worry about it. I am sure you are doing it right.
I know how bright your light is can make a big difference..................
Also, go to search and type in candelng.you will get lots of information.
Good Luck and Have fun

I just realized something. If I set on the morning of September 1st, what day will they hatch? The 21st? Or the 22nd?
Possibly both.......but should start the 22nd.and in case you don't know..............they can hatch over a few days.......
I keep mine in the incubator until day 25....................Good Luck

Oh geez. So I'm gonna set August 31st now. Just to be safe. I may get some eggs September 1st though and put them in the bator. Then they can hatch on the 22nd.

ETA: Can I put eggs into lockdown a day early? Will it really matter?

they're all shipped eggs they won't all hatch...I already have buckets of babies we haul in and out of the coop each night and morning! lol, the babies have their own coop! and an enclosed playpen for during the day...newborns have a separate playpen until they are big enough to fit in with the bigger babies!
. Awww..I hope most hatch! You must hatch A LOT of chicks!!!
I pulled another weepy one last night, I cleaned but the bator still stinks, that's the 4th egg from one breeder that swears they were fresh!

Ewwww...bad luck :(
Had a fierce storm yesterday and was without power for over 6 hours and bator temp dropped to 78. Going to candle to see if anything survived tonight.
Oooh- bummer, I had that happen, I only hatched 1 chick...I was lucky I did.
