I now have 5 early Seramas. 3 left wiggling in the eggs. 3 EE due to hatch tomorrow. Going into lockdown tomorrow 3 Mille Fleur, 10 BBS Orpington, 13 mixed bantams.

Does anyone one sell chicks? What is the best age to sell? I don't want to ship.

When I sell I give them a couple days to get stronger. Usually by then they are OK.

still lots of veins in most of the eggs have seen two babies wiggleing around in the eggs...a few eggs seem to be clear but i'll give them till day 14 atleast before i think of tossing them. can wait for them to hatch!

what does BBS mean? i've seen it several times but have no clue as to what it means

Perhaps I am wrong, but it could be Blue Black Splash. I'm new Not a pro, so someone may correct me.

Happy Labor Day! Fun catching up on this thread... SOOOO glad I'm not alone! Ya'll hatched some awesome cute babies!
I did my day 10 candling on Friday night... the 3 suspected clear were still clear. The other 26 have wiggly babies in there. It was quite easy to see them this time! The air cells appear to be progressing normally, tho I do have one that has the air sac on the side of the egg and it is not moving toward the top. I'm thinking this one will be trouble at hatch time. It would appear that my Light Brahma roo isn't as 'manly' as he thinks he is. All my infertile eggs were his. I think only 2 show any signs of life. The Lavender roo evidently has done a great job. Got my fingers crossed that everything keeps going well!

Yeah got my eggs last night to go into the bator tomorrow hopefully with better luck this time

and of course took the kids and they had chicks for sale so we ended up coming home with 3

2 banty's and a silkie they are so freaking cute!!!

they will be spoiled just like "lolly" our turkey

My babies are due 21st September. 8 Silkie babies. This is my 2nd attempt at hatching eggs.

The last one didn't go well - 4 black copper marans last October (i think). The light went out on day 15 during the night in my homemade incubator and they didn't make it :-(

This time i've tweaked the incubator a little, I have a light dimmer switch so i can adjust temperature better then before

So excited, can't wait to candle them. Can't believe how small the eggs from Silkies are compared to the copper maran ones.

It is the colors you may get from blue breeding...black, blue or splash.............
