September Hatch-A-Long

Me too, they're the best!

I had to go and check my hen that just hatched, she was raising holy heck. I got there just in time to see a snake slithering out of the coop :barnie
It got those last few eggs, and of course I couldn't catch it to take care of it. So I moved her and the other broody to a hutch that's secure from snakes so they can be left in peace. Its always something around here, I swear!

I have babies ! We are on day 20 1/2 and two bantams are out. One silkie and a gold laced cochin. 5 more are pipped.

I'm on the end of day 20 and still no pips.

The eggs are wiggling a little every now and then....

The wait is killing me, I feel like I'm looking through the incubator window every 10 minutes.

Come on chicks!

:jumpy

Oh, you know they're just waiting for about 2:00 a.m. tonight, don't you? Bet you wake up to a chick or two in the bator....

Oh Yeah, feelin' your pain there! This is why I set my first day forward a full 24 hrs so I'm not jumping impatiently around the incubator in the last day. It worked REALLY well this time. Today is 'hatch day' and I have 10 fuzzies, one newborn and one still trying in the morning of.....no serious waiting happened here at all!!!
