Help, I am hatching some Serama chicken eggs. Do they normally need help out of the shell? They started to hatch last night one was making no progress I played with the idea of helping him out or not when things really slowed down. I decided not to help...When I went back to check he had died in the egg. Since then two others hatched really quickly, but there is another egg that you can hear the chick peeping but the progress has been at a standstill.
Any help please.

Hi and thank you for answering. Today is the 23 day. No progress in about 8-9 hours. The other 2 hatched pretty quick.

I have had chicks start on their way out of the egg and than take time off and after 4 days clime right out so just give the chick some time really it works out better in the end and the last thing you want to do if it is colder outside the incubator then inside by more then a couple of degrees you can wind up chilling the chick and the sack that is around the chick can tighten up around the chick and dry out causing problems.

So just be patient and let mother-nature take her course and yes I know it is nerve racking  ..
