Can I brood these guys together or is that a huge no-no? I know quail chicks will peck at the vents of bigger chicks, but the Seramas are pretty darn tiny, even if they are 2 weeks old than the quail! Is there a health danger to either group? There are 24 quail and only 3 Seramas.

Thanks in advance

Oh well, who can have too many brooders going at once? LOL The Seramas are fine in the house and they are good at teaching new babies how to eat & drink

Yes you can brood both standard breed chicks and bantams with quail. I'm assuming you mean your Coturnix chicks? I have had Standard chicks and Pheasant chicks with Coturnix before. Bantam chicks should be A OKAY. I would never brood too many Standard chicks with quail though.
Good Luck!

I have brooded banties with quail before with no problems. I didnt know quail could get diseases from chickens?

With all due respect.... Y'all are playing a game of odds that will 1 day bite you! A good case of coryza will cure this idea, beleive me i learned the hard way....

Its not so much a matter of if? as it is more a matter of when....

I have brooded mix speces more than once. I am just as guilty as everyone else, but I got my knowledge the old fashioned way--- I earned it! While coturnix are a dime a dozen and readily available year round try loosing a large batch of ornimental pheasant chicks--- 54 rare hard to get expensive pheasant chicks--- Yep that lesson sticks with you. Ultimately the birds are personal property, You may handle them as you wish, but be aware ---- Its coming. I just hope someone other than me learns from my expensive mistakes( gives them a little more value to me if you will...)
