Serama hatch part 3 (and a few odds and ends!) Hatch a Long

I can't tell you when to do it, as I don't have much experience with it, but I separated mine at 5 weeks old and a couple of days. By the 4 week mark however, they were starting to look a bit rough though
I have 5 Seramas and 4 normal size babies. Granted 2 of the 4 are a tad smaller. I think it's bc the two others have EE in them. One has so much floof I swear it's part pomeranian.

Are they under Dolly? It might be different if you have a broody raising them, but I have absolutely no experience there, never raised different sized babies under a broody. Dia, any thoughts?

I camt wait to see the colors these babies have. ❤️ At what age should I separate the Seramas from the bigger babies?
I can only say to monitor them for any issues. They do well with other brooder mates (even large fowl). I have no problems keeping them that way. Keep in mind though, that I only brood small numbers at any given time, and it works really well.

I only have 5. Even my BB died. It got trampled by the adult birds bc my 7 year old went to look at the babies and everyone decided to bum rush in. (Which I told him not to do) :( I think it wasn't gonna make it though bc the BB was looking a little.....tired? That morning

I have only had a Serama broody with Serama chicks and 1-2 large fowl chicks. I had no issues. As far as a LF and Serama chicks… I haven’t done it. As long as the number of LF chicks is fewer than the amount of Serama chicks, I really don’t see much of an issue… as long as the broody is a terrific mother. 🙂 I think the same applies to a brooder box as well.

Dolly refuses to get up. Now we also have Atropos sitting on eggs. We had Charlene too but my toddler yeeted the eggs before I could catch him. My back has been messed up the past week. Yay for degenerative disc disease and a pulled back. Either way they were only 3 days into brooding.

I don’t brood, but I think if Dolly doesn’t have chicks you should break her broodiness.
