Serama Hatching

Jerry is an excellent source, no doubt, but there is a lot of information online now. Jerry brought them to this country, but many breeders have further developed them. I'm not discounting Jerry at all, only saying read anything and everything you can. Not just one source.

Ok, thank you! Actually the person that we got them from said that he got all of his from the breeder who brought Seramas to America so that must be him! They are Malaysian Seramas. Anyway, thank you for the help and I will continue to learn everything I can.

WHITE SERMA COCK
White is the only sanctioned color of seramas listed by the ABA standard

It is estimated that there are over a thousand different feather patterns in seramas.
thus the idea is to bred what is popular and at JERRY'S SERAMAS LLC
one can see videos and see discussions of Seramas
.

Well you can breed and raise Seramas AND THAT MAY BE YOUR GOAL,
BUT RAISING THEM TO THE STANDARD THEY ARE JUDGED BY IN THE American BANTAM Assn IS VERY IMPORTANT.
I also read all and every thing to retain articles for and see the different thoughts people have on Seramas.
And those thoughts are not just right always according to the ABA standard.
People put out information to sell their type of breeding.
I gain nothing by telling it like it is.
The Standard is there for a purpose.
To help breeders maintain their best possible breeding program.

Ok, thank you for all of the pictures and links! I will check them out. Thanks again for all of the good info.

they are hard to hatch and one little thing can cause them to die, ie dirty incubator, temp to hi to low. not turning properly, egg shells are sometime to thick/thin.

ok you asked on temp/days

19 days is about right +- 12 hours

99.5 -100 degrees works for me.

and i do around 60% humd.

but things may vary slighty depending on your hatcher, a chicken always works great..and most of the time hatches as good or better than any incubator...

i am using a 1502 ghf incubator, they do everything , put them in and forget until 17th day..
