serama question

can u put class A seramas one the ground in a pen, can they defend them selves, and can they fly to pertch at night

My Serama's have a small pen with attached coop that they stay in. I let them out every now and then to free range and they can definitely fly. My little roo flew straight up on a tree branch at least 15 feet and I thought he was going to fly over the fence. As far as defending themselves, my roo tries to fight everything that comes close including the two 25 lb turkeys I have. I guess nobody told him he's little. But I always go separate them as soon as I catch him trying to fight because he's so little and he always ends up with a bloody comb.

What are they defending themselves from? Larger chickens? How much space to they have?

They can fly pretty far and high.
