I have not read anything in the Serama standard regarding the color/s of the bird's leg, comb, and wattle, just the shape. I have read a lot of chatter concerning the desirability of colors other than yellow/ red. I have three Seramas on the ground, and two of them seem non- conforming. My favorite has green legs. My cockerel has black legs with yellow toes, and he seems to have black mottling in his comb. I only want to breed the best. Do these Seramas have acceptable traits, or are these "mixed bantams" going to have long happy lives as pets?

Thanks for your help! Also, if these are really bad traits, and you were the breeder, would you want to be informed?

Ok, so if comb color does not = DQ in Seramaland, how about the "show Quality" on these guys?

I asked the first guy "who is Jo Ann Wagner and why are you using her name?" She is not on the SCNA roster. I also asked for pics of better looking birds. I asked the second guy some tecnical questions about the color white/dun.

You see, since I suck at incubating, I'm forced to turn to Ebay! One would think I could be as adept as a chicken's butt, but no. I know most of you don't sell chicks, but how about selling me eggs and then hatching them for me?

I've known Jo-Anne for years. She breeds and exhibits silkies, and does quite well. Don't know about her serama, but most of what one learns as a breeder carries over from one breed to the next.

I would certainly trust her and be willing to purchase birds from her (actually, looking back I sort of did).

Thank you. I learned that she uses another name, and that's why I couldn't find her. I'm leery of buying eggs when I only have one so- so picture to go on, and these are not her eggs. The seller bought birds from her. I really need to go to shows and meet some of these people, then I'll be more comfortable with judging others' claims.

Her first name is Pamela, and that is what she shows under. However she goes by the name JoAnne. (I think that is her middle name.)

My son's first name is David, but if you were to try calling that, he would ignore you--because that is not the name he goes by, and he would not realize you were calling to him--he also uses his middle name.

My first name is Suzanne, but very few people realize that--however it is the way I always sign my name, and on any legal document that is the name I use.

I answer to ANYTHING. Seriously, my friends call me "Lizard." New aquaintances who want to tease me sometimes call me that, and it bugs them that I don't even perceive their "slight."

The first pic of the roo in the hand--looks small, pinch long in the back. Def. ask for better pics of him standing. Also his white earlobes throw me off.....

The second..the main white hen looks pretty good, the other hen-not bad either ...the second roo has short back, but hard to tell if he is vertical as he is running.

Not bad looking birds...if I had to choose, Id go with the second from the pictures, but the first seller (JoAnns birds) may be pretty good too from what you know of her as a breeder.
But She may have given away culls or eggs, and that breeder didnt cull for type. You never know!
Ask for more pictures! Good luck!
