At lockdown, basically just looking for duds.
Tracing air cells throughout incubation how I adjust humidity.

Thank you. If you were to look through my posts you will see I am not shy about asking questions and I almost always follow the advice I get. I am old enough to know what I know and what I don't.

Definitely the way to know air cells are getting bigger.

Just use a #2 pencil to draw outline. Can see in 2-3 days if it got bigger or not.

Again, just monitor the same few sample eggs if time is short.

Yes it is true that poultry breeds are defined by looks, not DNA lines like a dog.

If you started with some Plymouth Rocks, leghorns, buff Orpingtons and in 75 years has standard looking Buff Chanteclers they would be buff chanteclers,despite lack of any DNA from a bird called buff chantecler.

Just home from work, I have two chicks out and drying another egg pipping that I saw. There could be more pipping as I just took a quick look. Will have a more careful look when the two chicks are dry and I move them to the brooder.

When do I put food and water into the brooder, right away I think?

Yes. Dip chicks beak in water, sprinkle some feed on floor.
I like to use a tote lid for feed and water for the first week or so.

Yes, right away for food and water. I dip their beak into the water and also tap their food to get them to eat it

I have the eggs separated by "Delicates Laundry Bags" (net) so I can keep track of which is from what family. The two chicks seem to be taking a long time to dry and become fluffy. I was told I should wait until they dry before moving them to the brooder (@100F),

I want to get them out of the bag and moving, drinking, eating soonest. Wait until they dry or...?

They should be fine after a couple of hours of drying.

Don't keep the lid off long though so the other eggs do not dry out
