I bought the seed from the store, I planted 1 package each, I then pick the pods once they start to dry out then place the pods on the counter until they are dried then I place into a ziplock bag. The dragon beans are a type of black eye pea I think they are green and purple pods. The just looked fun. I tried cow peas last year and had such a good time growing them I tried different ones this year. I like them because I don't know how to can so I can just dry the beans and use them. Just like regular beans you buy in the store. I think you can even plant some of those beans you buy in the bags can also be used in the garden.

OK, I have grown this HUMONGOUS Vine from a volunteer seedling that popped up in my flower garden.

I mulch my beds with the used wood shavings from the coop so it's likely a seed from scratch grains that they missed. It looked a lot like a squash, has big orange squash like blooms, huge prickly leaves, and grows 4-6" per day. I put it up on a trellis so it wouldn't smother my flowers. The trellis began to collapse under the weight of the huge fruit!!!! Each one weighs 4.5 pounds or more and is about 9" long. There are hundreds of these on the three plants I let climb.

I am a semi-authority on flowers but veggies are not my specialty. So would someone PLEASE TELL ME WHAT THIS IS???? I cut a white one and a green one. I assume they are off the same kind of plant just different stages of maturity, but I don't know. The three vines look the same to me. I haven't cut them open yet.

Help!!!!!!!!

If it's some extra-terrestrial mutant predator plant intent on taking over the known world....please tell me. I can take it.

What seed are listed on the scratch bag? The seed of pumpkin and squash are similiar. Often seeds of crossed varieties are used in birdseed because they can't guarantee that the produce will be pure. The seeds are a byproduct of markets like baby food or pumpkin pie puree.

The green one looks like a fat zuchinni and the lighter one looks like a spagetti squash.

Cut into them and show us the insides....

I thought that about the green one too. And if I remember correctly if you allow a zuchinni to grow that large it becomes a winter type squash, rather then a summer squash.

I just joined the forum with 18 new chicks and was excited to find a section about hobbies. I am a very serious vegrtable gardner, it just started small but now we have added a new section for the past three years, so now my garden is quite big. This is the first year I decided to start my own seeds, which are doing very well. I keep my garden as organic as possible, no pesticides allowed here.
