I would be careful about putting the chick with my hen. There maybe something not right with the chick. It may be ill but not ill enough for you to notice but ill enough for a mother swallow to know. Wild birds some times have mites and other yucky things. I know you want to do best but I think placing the chick with a person who know how to care for it would be best. That said, it it works out, let us know. Its delightful to think of a chicken raising a swallow.
