seriously, another question. turning eggs

But my eggs have been on their sides for a day and a half, is it too late to give the carton method a try? And as the last person said, could I use the papery cartons?

If they've only been in the incubator for a day & a half, you can move them to egg cartons. I use styrofoam cartons, because I figured paper would absorb some of the humidity out of the air.

You can also get a turner. I don't know if u have TSC or something similar, but u can get one for about 50$

Well I totally would have done that by now but we only have one feed store in the area and they do not have a turner, in fact they only had one incubator in the whole store ( remember I live in the city)

From my understanding, yes. What I was told when I asked the question, is the paper/cardboard cartons absorb too much of the water when you are trying to keep the humidity up.

Yeah, I wish that was an option. I made my incubator out of an Omaha Steaks cooler and it was a little too small for a turner to fit in. I actually started a thread asking if they come in bigger sizes and the consensus seems to be "no". I like the Omaha Steaks coolers because the styrofoam is so thick. I'll have to follow up on some of the other suggestions in that thread to try to find a larger cooler that still has thick styrofoam.
