seriously injured silkie chick.. does it have a chance?

Why not just set her up her own small coop? Maybe when she is fully healed get another younger silkie for a friend. I can't wait til next spring to get my silkies, but I'm too afraid of them getting hurt so I'll be making a separate coop just for them. Good luck!

I won't set up another coop. I have a state of the art setup for the whole chicken area. The coop is huge and fully automated, seals perfectly at night to protect the girls from predators. They forage in a wooded area surrounded by electric fence and covered with hawk netting. There they can roost on trees, chase bugs and sunbathe/dustbathe. The silkie would have to either be caged or in a run within that area all by herself. It's just not good for her. She needs a new home once she's healed again.

After a LOT of TLC, here's my silkie today:

400

Now, it's time to find this baby a home!!

Wish me luck!!!

Same thing happened to one of my chicks! she'll be fine. my chick is now my bff. lol. just keep her away from others so they don't see blood and peck her more and make sure she eats and drinks as normal

I cant remember how old you said she was, but she sure does have large wattles and a comb ( unless of course she is near to or laying. )
Other than that she is looking really good, your tlc really paid off

Well, this story has come to an end!
My silkie has found a forever home with a very sweet teenage girl. She came with her dad to pick her up today.

She will live with a cochin bantam! I hope they become best friends.

Thanks everyone who followed this journey and offered support!! :) :) You guys are the best!!
