Serv´s up.........what´s this, then?

Here is a pic of the other goslings
Not the best but all i have right now
400

Then the 5th gosling, the white one the brown with it you already said was a girl in previous post
400

8, how many ganders do you have?  It seems it´s a big operation!  :D

I have 1 main gander for each breed i have, Tufted Roman, White Chinese, Brown Chinese and Toulouse. Then i have 1 young brown chinese gander and one young tufted cross gander that Serv identified. The younger ones are calm as of now.
The chinese ganders are switching harems this year for more pied goslings. The tufted is keeping his mate and the toulouse will keep his mate and have a tufted also, not my choosing on that, the tufted goose bonded with the toulouse. The two tufted crosses if of age will be together. The young pieds will stay together. Thats about 6 pens to divide 20 geese into. Not hard i just have to be sure none are related.

What pen setup do you have - I'm looking for ideas for next season because what I used this season isn't going to work long term?

Its a 48" chainlink pen divided into sections each one is a 24x 24 ft square. i have 2 more sections to build though to give me 6 pens. Right now they are in a 250 ft x 250 ft run since Autumn set in and then housed at night in the original 4 pens for protection.

Ive around 20 ganders(actually 15 killed off a few for customers)and they fight alright but i dont really see the problem coz all they do is punch eachother in the stomach its only really a problem if you have a young one year old gander and a stronger 3 year old gander but thats really the only problem and the only problem with a fight once was a sprained wing which was badly injured but recovered within 2 months that african showed him ! :) and the geese that fight the most are chinese 100% and africans 90% of the time

No idea why but when my swan geese types(chinese and african) fight they want more after winning a fight unlike the greylag types which keep their cool after a fight

That´s where the steinbachers get it from.....

I find muscovies fight much worse than ganders. My two ganders had a set-to the other day, caused by the female of one of them....

the older one left a mark on the chest of the younger one, all gone and forgotten soon after.
On the other hand, my drake got over our fence to fight with my neighbour´s drake and I had to reach over, get hold of the wing of mine, and hit the other one off! I then lobbed mine back into my place where he shook himself off and waddled away.
