eh, i wrote him an email about how i would hope he would do the right thing... we will see. i might have to put them out of the incubator for a week or so, and go "deliver" them back to him.... LOL

Way to keep your sense of humor, I would gladly help with the "delivery" !

Love him, he hasn't been as big into this whole chicken thing as I have, but I always seem to pull him into making/building things for me. So now out of 34, I have 23 still....3 of which are green and I can't see in them very. I guess we will see how many make it to hatch day.

Nice! My homemade candler is DH's 3-cell Maglight flashlight standing on end with an empty oatmeal container with a hole cut in it over the top of the flashlight. It worked well on the lighter eggs, but I had trouble with the dark green ones. Then I read on here about using light on both ends, so I held the egg on the oatmeal container, and used the candler that came with the incubator on the top - WOW! It was great! Waiting to hear how your new candler works - I bet it'll be great!

It's day 12~!!! How is everyone doing? 6 more days until lockdown, I'm so ready! I think I'll candle again probably in a few days.

Yeah! Day 12 means we are over half way to baby chicks!

I candled my 5 EE eggs on Monday -Day 10 and still had good veining in there. Plus, I could see the embryos "floating" around. I think they were trying to get away from the bright light so I didn't candle any longer than necessary. It sure is getting dark inside the egg!

May or may not candle these eggs on Day 18...they seem to be doing so good that it might be better to just leave them alone and let them do their "thing"!

Hope everyone else is having good success with their eggs.

I candled mine yesterday I started with 12.. 6 were barnvelder eggs from MPC that I don't think weren't fertile....every one was clear even the 3 I gave to my broody. I also got 6 Blue copper Marans and I had one that i'm sure of and one that had blood ring and the other was a ?. So I took the three BV from my broody that were clear and gave her my two BCM that were a possibility. She also had one BCM I was sure of and two?? So I have a total of 5 that my silkie is sitting on until hatch day. It's day 12 for me. I have others in the incubator that were set on the14 and 15th. Of those I have 3 sex links that are good and 2 ?? and 7 Silver Penciled Brahma's that look good....all from Ebay.
