Does anyone have a Brahma/EE cross? I have quite a few bantam sized hens, and not enough really BIG egg layers. I finally was able to collect some big eggs from my Brahma hen (light brahma, she's getting old and I'd like some chicks from her.) and they will be fertilized by my big EE roosters. I wonder what they'll look like and what color eggs the hens will lay? They should be nice big eggs at least and it will add some substantial size to my egg basket!

My last hatch was tiny little bantams, so these chicks will seem huge by comparison! They should be hatching on the 21st! I set them last night, and today is my birthday!

I just hatched a Brahma/EE mix on Jan 9th. I have a LF Buff Brahma Roo over 2 EE hens. One Chick is yellow with tan stripes and the other is brown chipmunck. The Yellow chick has feathers on her legs. I'll try and post pics later. I do have some more Brahma/EE eggs I just set in the bator on Sat. along with regular Buff Brahma eggs.

I wonder what color eggs they will lay? Is green or brown more dominant? Or will we get a different shade of green?

My brahma eggs are a pretty pinky brown color, so I think the offspring might be just brown egglayers. I might put my EE roo back on to the mixes.
