Set chicken eggs on 7/29/12

6 hatched, 4 pipped, the red sag on the first one is dried but attached, one can't stand well, other chicks are healthy.

7 hatched 6 pipped. I have better luck with brown eggs than white eggs. Only 1 white egg hatched, non pipped while 6 brown eggs hatched and 6 pipped. Have you ever experience something like this?

My day 21 officially starts around 10 pm, but I have a pip!! Hopefully will have at least 1 mor
e out of 7 eggs.

19 hatched but the first one with the red sag died. So I have 18 left. 1 last egg pipped still in the incubator. I open all the quitter eggs that has no sign of life and sure enough, they all died fully developed. I wonder if what is the cause? Most of them are white eggs.

One of my chick which can't stand straight, has some problem with her legs. She can't move the toes, feet or shanks, the only parts that move are thighs. She can't eat because of that problem. I am afraid she will not make it.

In the end we wound up with 2 chicks out of 7 shipped eggs, not nearly as bad as our last try where we got 1 out of 12!!
We are now up to 1 six week old and 2 two day old Barnevelders!

The one that can't walk couldn't make it, so it's down to 18. 15 black ones, 2 white and 1 chipmunk color. 18 out of 4 dozens of refrigerated eggs are not that bad but I think I have room to improve hatch rate.
