The 3 I put under the broody are doing great.

The 3 shipped eggs haven't hatched.

Gonna shut down the incubator later tonight and crack them and see how far developed they are.

March 20th I'll be setting more eggs of my own eggs. By then, they will have been separated long enough for me to know who belongs to who for sure.

How are yours? How many are you up to now?




Will any of you guys be setting more eggs around 3/20?

Well, my last 1 hatched last night about 9:30!!!

didn't think it was going to! So had 7 eggs in and they all hatched!!

never had that happen before!

Ok, so my last 1 hatched last night!!!! 7 eggs, 7 babies

However, when the last 1 hatched, the others were pecking at it pretty good. They were all dried , so moved them to the brooder and left the last one in to dry and get stronger.

He is still in there this morning, no quite dry all the way. Gonna wait a couple more hours and then but it in the brooder........Hope the others accept him....do you think I will have trouble????

I have 5 silkie baby fuzzy butts now in the brooder with my polish.

and I have another one with a pip. I think #7 will try to pip today as well, but the last egg #8 I do believe quit on me, but will give it to Tuesday just in case. so so far 5/8 hatched with #6 pipped now.

3 blues, 1 splash, and 1 blue partridge. whoot. OMG they are so adorable.

ok, put the last baby in the brooder. everyone is getting along great!!!

so funny, the cat does not pay any attention to them at all! She just lays on the floor and meows at me as if to say "hey, why are those chicks in my room?"

smk...your chick should be fine. I had a 3 day long hatch and added chicks to the brooder as they hatched. Even the wet ones did fine. Yeah, I know you aren't supposed to open the bator, but too many chicks to leave in there==eggball game... I was going to remove the last few, unhatched eggs, from the incubator but wouldn't you know someone is chirping inside. I thought they were all done!! LOL

well i told DH if the one with the foot out (alot of feathers dried too) was not out when i got home I was going to help it along....DH took it over and it is out running around now

now I really can't wait to get home and see these fuzzy butts i am off tomorrow so i will finally get to see some hatch
