I think the last of mine have hatched. I have two eggs left that were questionable so I don't expect them to do anything but I'll leave them till tomorrow. I ended up with 7 out of 9 hatching. The last little guy pipped but didn't do anything else. We opened the shell for him and found he was saran wrapped in. He was chirping but really weak last night but seems pretty normal this morning. Try and get pictures today.

I must be the most unsuccessful, stupid wanna be in the world when it comes to hatching chicks. My results have been dismal. I had 5 eggs I bought from Ebay due to hatch (boyfriend dropped the 6th) on 2/25. I was gone most the weekend and he had had success in hatching some chicks from our own Maran eggs.

Saturday one started pipping and finally got out on Sunday but what a struggle. Last night I looked at the incubator with the other 4 eggs, no pipping at all and the temp on the regular thermometer (that comes with the incubator, little plastic thing with red line) said it was 100 degrees; the digital said 104!!!

He replaced that digital with another and about an hour later it still read 102 and the plastic one was 101. I am sure the high heat killed the chicks but I'm not sure if I should just take them out, open and inspect to see how far along the chicks were? Is there somewhere I can go for reference of what chicks look like at certain stages up to and including the hatch?

I'm so bummed. I give up on hatching.

I would leave them another day or 2 and see what happens. If your high temp wasn't for too long, they might be ok.

Thanks guys but its really disheartening. None of my Muscovy eggs hatched, my one batch of Marans hatched and I didn't keep any chicks, now I kick myself! i recently bought midget white turkey eggs online and they are in the third bator right now, not due for a while (just went in a couple of days ago) and fear my hatching skills suck!

So far, with only one chick hatched from the Ebay eggs, none of the other ones are pipping. They were set 2/5.

I had bad hatches last year and I know it is disheartening. But I tried again this year and had a great hatch!!!

Seabreeze I know where your comin' from. I had 30 eggs in the bator, most from ebay. I got two chicks in the brooder, and two still in the bator that can't get up. I don't know what to do with them. I have another 15 in another bator and it is lockdown day and they are rock n rollin all over. I been hatching for a while. I don't know what happened with all those other eggs. I'm hoping this hatch will go much better.
