I'd wait until day 7 at least.![]()
It's Day 5 today for the silkie eggs (and Day 12 for the EE eggs which are right on target). It is so hard to wait.............I'm really trying to hold off until Day 7, like you suggested....but that's 2 more days!

I at least want to candle a few from one of the other pens, but once I get started I may end up candling all 23.![]()

Your second guess was exactly right....I was getting this baby put together and warmed up. It only says to stabilize temperature for half a day, so I'll move the silkie eggs into it tomorrow morning. It is holding a nice cozy 99-100 degree range. I filled one of the trays with water (in the new removable liner!) and the humidity is at 47%. That's a little higher than I like, so I'll remove some water tomorrow if it doesn't go lower on it's own. This is like playing with a new toy. And, here is a picture of my 2362 model Hova Bator. Look and drool
! Strombergs included a nice catalog with my order. They have this model for $98 without the turners or you can get a still air (no turner either) for $68.![]()

Uhhhmmm....I asked for this bator and I didn't get a response. DH did sit down and look at the picture. He wants to make it so bad! It's right on the list after fixing cars, lawn mower, tractor, building coops, getting the pool ready......yeah, you see my point, right?
I'm kind of back to thinking about the LG and at least using it for the hatching bator. It doesn't cost that much and it would give me the room I need.
All the silkie eggs arrived in perfect condition today!!!!!Would it be bad to let them rest until in the morning or should I put them in tonight? I got three dozen, yyyiiipppeee....15 lavendar, 15 porcelain and 18 BBS. I hope I get a good percentage of them that develop and make it. Karen had buff up earlier this week and it was soooo hard not to buy them.![]()
My project color I want to work on is a wheaten. I saw some old posts on here and someone had made it and it was so pretty. I have a blue calico roo with that color on his wing tips so I'm going to try porcelain with him if I get a purty girl! And I've got a blue/porcelain roo that might look nice with that color. Still think I need buff, thoughIf I knew I knew how to incubate, those would have sooo been mine, LOL!![]()
Oh, and I wanted to buy some Faverolles from someone, but my husband panicked too much. He says he doesn't know where we are going to put everyone. Uhhhh????? We live on three and a half acres....just build them housing!!!! It can't be that hard, right? ( I who does not know how to build anything, including a three layered cake ) So I have my eye on Cochin eggs. The auction starts at two dollars and the guy who is selling them has awesome fowl. Auction ends in three days and I so hope they will be mine........he won't know if I get more eggs, right? He can't really tell any of these guys apart and they will be fluffy and have feathers on their feet and...and...and........right?????

if he notices just tell him you found them wandering around outside.![]()
I always feel the need to build my incubators too. My next one I will be transferring my thermostat and humidifier setup into a cabinet style.
