Congrats on the 5 beautiful babies!!!! Sorry about the others...but 5 is a good number

Sounds like your broody is acting just like mine...tucking the babies back under and giving little "love pecks" when they try to wander away. Sammie doesn't mind if we just sit and watch, but pecks us when we reach out to touch the babies. She's not too happy about that at all!

Loopy...can't wait to see pics when yours finally make an appearance...I can't believe it's taking so long from the first pip.

TWO DUCKLINGS OUT!!!!!!
Within half an hour of each other...2 pekins...Donald & Daisy's first babies

Number 3 is the little black cayuga - can you see him at the back?

Hubba took these. I hurt my back yesterday & forgot the camera when she got here, so I wasn't about to go back in & get it.

The 3 are pale yellow. Yes, I need to clean the nestbox out. She hadn't pooped in it until after they were hatched. *sigh*

This one looks like a BR, but she doesn't have any BR's in her flock. It even has the black legs.

Here's one of the yellow ones:

And my favourite- the brown one.

And one just for sheer cuteness:

Ducks are so much fun to watch...

Ok I have 9 out now!!! (7 pekins and 2 cayuga)
I'd given up on the other cayugas when I went to bed because the otehr 3 had dodgy airsacs. I know they were alive and mocing at lockdown but maybe they'll struggle to pip internally. But this morning there's another pip, so will just have to wait. I can't see one of the intact eggs as they are all hugging it so there may or may not be another pip there.
Kind of want to get them all out of there now as its chaos in there. There pretty big and very lively and are climbing up on the sponges and I'm worried about them hitting their heads on the heating element.

But for now I'm sitting on my hands and being angelic.

Was super cute last night. I tubed some more water in there and they all ran over and drank water from the end of the tube. They are trying to eat everything in sight and kind of playing with each other like sword fighting with their beaks!

Congrats on all the fluffies everyone!!! And keep the pictures coming
