Set eggs 5/18 - whose with me?

Addictive is putting it mildly. I am not sure what comes after addictive but whatever it is, that's what hatching has turned in to for me. The hubby said last night, "Step away from the eggs" It's kind of like Christmas, you just don't know what surprises there may be. I hope that your eggs get there real soon. Especially with you getting a new incubator. You have to have something to put in that

I have 13 Black Copper Maran eggs in my home made incubator that I put in there afternoon of the 19th so I'm in with you all. Right now they look good, well the ones I can candle all the others are too dark. I have one awesome one that is labled number "12" and it is a lighter colored egg and I can see the baby in there! I'm excited.

My chickens wouldn't know what to do in Alaska, but this time of year it might be a nice break from out heat waves! Welcome aboard Tundra!

I candled tonight and got movement from all my eggs but one that looks really wierd , I will leave it in with the rest of them till lock down I figure if its dead it wont grow and I will be able to see the diffrence by then. I dont always trust my self to throw out eggs I always think what if even if you can really tell there isnt anything there.

Were the veins starting to fade from your last candling? Or was this the first? How do you mean 'funny' ?

So to add to the bad luck tree, guess who had an eight hour power outage today? BROODY TO THE RESCUE... Let's hope these babies survive.

Yes I think the viens are lighter then befor and there is a dark patch like the rest of the eggs have but its in one spot and there seems to be some kind of ring around the egg but it dosnt look like a classic blood ring I dont think but IM shure its not a viable egg anymore but Im being cautious as long as it dosnt smell

If there's a ring of any sort, I personally don't chance it. From my experience a ring forming of any kind is bacterial growth.

Oh no----8 hr power outage!! Atleast you have a back up plan. If where you are is anything like it was here today it was 97 degrees out. I am hoping that your babies make it through.
