Meet Prim, my first born silkie bantam. She's soooo pretty Her shell was marked "L" for lavender...she doesn't really look lavender to me though.

I'm half tempted to pay back every single parent I know by shoving my chicks picture in their face and forcing them to pretend to enjoy looking at my "babies" in retaliation for all the times I had to sit through looking at photo albums of friends baby pictures. LMAO.

Maybe I'll take that picture to walmart and make a bunch of wallet sized prints to hand out to people. Ha ha ha.

Anybody have any suggestions about what I need to do? I moved my other 3 to the brooder. Their feathers are still really stiff. I didn't want to rub or wipe to much. I was afraid I would take their hid. Anyway, I'm looking for suggestions for my other pips. I really don't want them to go thru the same thing.

One of my babies has very stiff feathers after being sticky, I still have him in the bator until he is a little stronger and then I may try some Q-tips and warm water to loosen some of the stickyness
This is my first incubator hatch so I am playing it by ear lol. Good luck with your babies

Prim got moved to the chick tub, she was really raising the temperature so I moved her out of the incubator, but not before I picked up the eggs. Lots of peeps and I could feel movement in all but 1 of them so I guess all is not lost just yet.

I WOKE UP TO A PIP OR A TRY- AND- ZIP NOT SURE WHICH AS THE HOLE HAS A BIGGINING ZIP TO IT NOT JUST ONE TINY HOLE

iT IS RIGHT AT THE UPPER SIDE THOUGH NOT VERY TOP BUT COULD BE IN THE AIR SAC...i HOPE.!!! IT IS STILL NOW... NO WIGGLES FROM ANYONE ...
OTHER 2 ARE STILL VERY STILL NO PIP AND I DONT HEAR A PEEP ANYPLACE WHICH IS CONCERNING TO ME,. BUT THIS HOUSE WITH THE DOGS BARKING AND MOVNG AROUND UNDER THE BED A PEEP MIGHT BE DROWNED OUT FROM THE CLOSET ACROSS THE ROOM.
I WOKE UP LISTENING THOUGH.
I THOUGHT I HEARD SOMETHING AS IWOKE UP THAT SOUNDED LIKE SOMEONE KNAWING ON DRYWALL COULD THAT BE THE ZIP SOUND?
WELL MAYBE IT WAS ONE OF MY DOGS KNAWING ON DRYWALL.. NEVER KNOW HERE AT LEAST I KNOW I MADE IT TO THE ZIP POINT ANYWAY ..THAT MAKES ME SO HAPPY. I GAVE THEM ALL A PEP TALK LAST NIGHT MAYBE IT HELPED.
THINK I WILL GO IN PULL UP A CHAIR AND PEEP A CHICK PEEP RALLY SONG"" rah rah, pip pip who is gonna zip zip! cheep cheep cheep go egglets!" FOR THEM... MIGHT GET THEM GOING.

How's the lil one doing ChickSter???
I read somewhere if they are shrink wrapped and gunky you can run them under warm water and then right back to the bator to dry... less invasive and easier then qtips and some of the other things.
