SET EGGS JUNE 23 ANYONE WITH ME?

I hate plugging vents. I keep a xenon under cabinet light ( flat like a hockey puck) with cord that I can plop into the incubator if the temps fall too low. They're a hot light and quickly bring up temps. Warning hot hot light. Never point one of those at eggs, plastic or foam walls I keep a jar of water in my big bator for thermal mass and point it at that. In smaller ones I have tile and can point it at that. It helps to have options. Luck!

I am super excited about seeing all 10 of my remaining eggs our of 16 moving. I figured that is good for the first time. Hate that it ended up being work days that they are suppose to hatch wish i had it scheduled for the weekend. Might have to get sick and go home. LOL

Eff. Eff. Eff.

Everything was stable when I left for the gym. Fast forward 1.5 hours and I come home to a temp of 102!!!

No freaking idea why all of a sudden my incubator needs every 5 minute monitoring when the past 18 days it's stayed right at 99.5 without much help.

I don't know how long the temp was that high, but I'm starting to doubt that 1.5 hours at that temp helped my hatch rate at all :/ I'm darn near tears right now.

Ok ladies. I'm about to have a meltdown.

My digital thermometer and my manual thermometer have been showing similar temperatures, but just a minute ago my manual thermometer was reading 102 and my digital still said 99. Which one do I trust?!?!!

Do you have a 3rd by chance/ I'm being serious. I've battled this my entire hatch!

Unfortunately, if I end up with 17 babies, I won't be allowed to hatch anymore. My husband said we can only have 6 chickens...I have 4 and now the possibilities of 17 babies...I might be a single chicken women here soon [

If this goes well, I may put an ad in the paper and offer to hatch other peoples eggs for free. It'll give me experience.

I ended up just using hot tap water, but on top of the pre-existing water rings, it was too much, so I removed them.

Thanks aarissilkiesmooth and roxannemc...I was thinking it was a goner...I went ahead and locked them all down today though...no one is stinky and I'm hoping for a miracle of at least one! If not, I'll be on the lookout for some more eggs!

I threw in a 3rd thermometer...my digital an te 3rd are reading 98 and the funky one is still reading 100-101. It feels weird to use the other two thermometers when I've been relying in this one stupid one the entire hatch.

I just stepped out to lunch and everything seemed stable. Please cross fingers that nothing spikes while I'm out.
