It sounds like we have the same accurite.I purchased mine at walmart too. I just put in a folded piece of paper between the wire floor and hygrometer. My water is only in the outside tray right now, but as we all know that may change. Humidity right now accurite on bottom standing upright reads-70% Hovabator on top reads 57% I sure hope we all have good hatches.

So I just called GQF about my humidity problem and talked to, what seems like a very knowledgeable person, and he told me to ditch my walmart accurite hygrometer from the incubator and go by the hovabator one. The man stated they put a really expensive chip in there and to go by that one, open up the incubator, hasn't been 24 hrs yet, and fill up the troughs. Having 43% humidity in the house should be about 57% in the incubator, he said. So I did what he said. Hope it works.
Next time I incubate I will get 2 hygrometer's from a cigar shop. So then I will have more to go by.

Checked my eggs about 35 times before I left for work at 10am and ......Nothing

. Temp and humidity were good. Can't wait to get home at 7pm to stare at them some more!!

I DID THE SAME THING BEFORE I LEFT FOR WORK THIS MORNING...........................................I WILL GET HOME ABOUT 4:45 AND IT IS KILLING ME.................................

CAN'T WAIT TO CHECK THEM AND GET EVERYONE'S STATUS!!!
