I set 7 eggs on the 22nd of July too under my broody Cuckoo Marans. Today 6 of the 7 eggs are peeping and have started the process of hatching through the shell. I could tell tonight that our hen is very aware of the movement and peeping, I just hope she is a good mom when they hatch. This is our first time hatching eggs and I guess 6 out of 7 is a good rate. Right now it is so hard not to run out and look under her every hour to see how they are doing...
I know what ya mean! It is an exciting time, for sure! You are right, 6 out of 7 is wonderful. Good luck to ya!
I am on lockdown with my second batch of Silkied Ameraucanas (the next generation). First hatch, last weekend was 12 out of 13. This batch has 2 bloodrings, so am hoping the others do well. Due Friday.
3 shipped silkie and one EE. There still in the incubator and the glass on that thing is old. Tomorrow is hatch day so it will be a few days. There all dark color so far.
Here is what my babies looked like at 10:30am Wednesday. The blue colored egg hatched out at about 1:00pm today. They all are active and getting along with the mother hen.
