Cute, cute, cute! Love the pictures! Congrats!

I have 2 out, 2 or 3 pips going on now. Mine are Silkied Ameraucanas. I am thinking this hatch is not going to be as good as the one last weekend (12 of 13). Or maybe they are just gonna make me wait longer.

I would love to see the silkied Ameraucanas when they come out. How are you doing with that? How many do you have now? I've been thinking about these guite a bit. They are LF right with blue eggs?

Yes, correct, LF from blue eggs. You have probably seen the pictures of the originals, right? We are crossing them (all are Splash) with Ameraucanas. The resulting chicks are now hatching. They will feather out like regular Ameraucanas. These we will cross back to the original Silkied ones, and will get some Silkied Ameraucanas in all the colors (B/B/S). It is a fun project.

Oh, yes I have seen pictures and you have got something real cool going on there. How many chicks do you have of the cross to breed back to?

I have 6 of the originals (2 roos, 4 pullets), that were hatched from Ozzie (or Ozzie, Jr) and Harriet (the 2 that were the first surprise hatch of jubaby's from regular blue Ameraucana eggs). The ones I am hatching now are from Ozzie, Jr over Ameraucana hens. I hatched 12 of 13 last weekend. Today I have 3 out and see 2 more pips so far. I also have 3 or 4 eggs in that are Silkied Ameraucanas (not the next generation). I don't see any pips from them, and they usually require assistance in hatching. I will check on them later and may pip them myself.

7 are hatched, and 1 more is zipping. I think that is it for this batch. One or two of them are the original Silkied ones. The others are the next generation. I did not help any of them. Pictures in the morning.
